Located on the breath-taking border between Powys and Shropshire the Stables are situated perfectly for various different day trips. Polly and Julia who run The Stables are both events coordinators by trade who have lived in the area their whole lives so are on hand to guide you with things to keep you occupied during your stay here.
There are some lovely places to eat around us, from unique country pubs for hearty meals to small independent cafe's with homemade produce you won't go hungry. We have listed a few of our favourite places to eat below.
We highly reccommend a day trip out to Powis Castle which is around 15 minutes away if you're travelling by car, there is plenty in the beautiful gardens for everyone, they regularly have children's activities on and resident peacocks roaming the grounds to search for. The castle itself is open at certain times of the year and has a great interesting background with The Clive of India.
Montgomery is the perfect little town to visit, with the castle ruins to walk around, a number of small businesses and quaint cafe's to stop in for coffee and a slice of homemade cake.
We are in a great area for walking breaks with links to the Offa's Dyke pathways and the Montgomeryshire Canal running close to The Stables there is something for all abilities.
We ask that you please check opening times of all the mentioned places before going as some are seasonal.
